‘s Fleur East has signed a record deal with Simon Cowell.
The singer – who finished in second place on the latest series of the ITV show – will begin recording her debut album after the upcoming X Factor arena tour.
Revealing the news on Twitter, she wrote: “It’s official!!! The hard work starts now!!!”
Her signing comes just a week after winner Ben Haenow confirmed his deal with Cowell, following the success of his debut single Something I Need. The track remains in the top ten four weeks after it its release.
East had been widely expected to triumph in last month’s curtain closer, following acclaim from judges and critics. The popularity of her performance of Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk forced the producer to bring forward the song’s release by a month.
