‘Frozen’s coming out anthem ‘Let It Go’ gets banger remix
Oscar-winning song Let It Go from Disney’s Frozen has been turned into a dance banger for DConstructed, a collection of remixed Disney hits featuring input from the likes of Avicii and KASKADE.
Let It Go has been remixed by Armin van Buuren, the Dutch DJ behind This Is What It Feels Like, which reached number six on the UK’s Official Singles Chart last year (2013).
Since its release last year, Let It Go has been adopted as a coming out anthem due its themes of shaking off society’s restrictions.
Of the opportunity to remix the track, which features vocals from Broadway star Idina Menzel, van Buuren, said: “I feel incredibly honoured to have remixed an Oscar-winning song – though I didn’t know that yet when I started.”
Other tracks on the upcoming remix album include Circle of Life from The Lion King, which has been reworked by Brit Mat Zo, who has previously reswizzled hits by Ellie Goulding and Kylie Minogue. Meanwhile, Wake Me Up hitmaker Avicii has offered his take on Daft Punk’s Tron: Legacy track Derezzed.
DConstructed will be released on April 22 in the US, with a UK release date yet to be confirmed.
