Gay couple celebrate engagement with ‘Doctor Who’ shoot

A gay couple from Texas have celebrated their engagement by transforming themselves into Time Lords.
TJ and Timmy hired wedding photographers Shaun and Shannon Menary, of Shaun Menary Photography, to help them mark the special occasion with a Doctor Who-themed shoot.
TJ is seen dressed as David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor, while Timmy has channeled Christopher Eccleston’s ninth incarnation for the romantic photoshoot. They had a TARDIS custom built for the occasion.
On their special shoot, the couple told BuzzFeed: “We couldn’t just take ‘normal people’ engagement photos… We aren’t normal people! We wanted to bring the Whovian fandom and the LGBT community together.”
They said their shared love for Doctor Who is what “keeps some sliver of sanity” in their busy lives.
The couple will marry on November 8, but they will have to travel outside their home state as same-sex marriage is still illegal in Texas.
