Actor Max Adler is set to return to Glee for its upcoming final season.

Adler will apparently reprise his role as gay student and former school bully Dave Karofsky for at least four episodes of Glee’s sixth and final season.

His character, who last appeared in the 17th episode of season five, will appear as the boyfriend of Blaine (Darren Criss), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

At the end of the last season of Glee, Blaine was seen in a relationship with Kurt (Chris Colfer). The show’s creator Ryan Murphy revealed earlier this year that the final season will feature a time jump, which could explain the surprise storyline development.

Meanwhile, it was announced recently that Glee will introduce a new gay character – a football player – for its final season – find out more here.

Glee’s final season is set to air in 2015 and will comprise a shorter run of 13 episodes.
