Gay kiss cut from Legend of Tarzan because it was ‘too clever’

, so why was a gay kiss cut from The Legend of Tarzan?
The upcoming Warner Brothers film featured a scene where the evil Caption Leon Rom, played by Christoph Waltz, kisses an unconscious Tarzan, played by Skarsgård, before telling Jane, “Your husband’s wildness disturbs me more than I can even express.”
According to GayBuzzer, the line was kept but the kiss was cut.
Why?
Well director of the film, David Yates, spoke to the Time and revealed all.
“We pared it back because it was almost too much. it was this really odd, odd moment when Christoph kisses him.”
He adds, “We loved it at the time. But early test audiences were perplexed by it and in the end it just felt too clever and overworked.”
Well, that’s disappointing. We can only hope there’ll be an uncut edition sometime in the future.
