Gaydio expands its reach further across UK
Gaydio, the UK’s only full time LGBT radio station, has announced it will be broadcasting on DAB Digital Radio in three new UK cities from this September.
The station – which is already on DAB Digital Radio across London and the Sussex Coast and FM in Manchester – will be adding Cambridge, Birmingham and Glasgow to its reach.
“Gaydio is already available online throughout the UK and with almost half of the population now owning a DAB Radio, we want to make the station more easily available across the country. Our existing DAB services for London & Sussex along with our FM licence in Manchester means that around 20 million people will be able to listen to the station on their DAB or FM radios,” said Station Director Toby Whitehouse.
With an average monthly audience of 850,000 listeners, Gaydio is the UK’s only radio broadcaster for the LGBT community. This expansion makes Gaydio one of the biggest independent radio stations in the UK, having originally launched to support the Manchester Pride festival in 2006.
As well as being available on DAB across over ten cities in the UK and via 88.4FM in Manchester, Gaydio is also accessible globally via mobile apps for iPhone and Android and online via their website. For more information on how to get Gaydio visit gaydio.co.uk/howtolisten
