‘George Michael: Freedom Uncut’ documentary gets premiere date
The feature-length autobiography is directed and narrated by the late singer.

A feature-length documentary about the late George Michael is set to premiere globally in June.
George Michael: Freedom Uncut is the last project the late star worked on and will be narrated by the ‘Freedom 90’ singer himself and will be available on Wednesday 22 June.
The singer passed away at his home on Christmas day in 2016 as a result of combined heart and liver problems. He was 53.
“It is the complete story”
David Austin, who directed the film along with George says, “The film is George’s final work. Narrated by George himself, it is the complete story.”
Featuring an array of contributors, including Stevie Wonder, Sir Elton John, Mark Ronson, and Naomi Campbell, the autobiographical feature film will look at the Grammy award winner’s life and include never-before-seen and personal archival footage.
Michael talks openly and honestly about his music career, which began in the 1980s as one half of Wham! as well as his personal life.
Delving into the difficult time for the star after his song ‘Faith’ and leading up to the release of the Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1 album in 1990. It also looks at the artists’ fight for artistic freedom and how he led the way for others to do the same.
Freedom Uncut also explores how he influenced the cultural landscape of his generation as one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time. The film serves as a reminder of Michael’s outstanding musical genius during the Wham! years and throughout his solo career.
The release will include never-seen-before footage from one of the most iconic videos in music history, ‘Freedom! ’90’, which will be screened in full ahead of the main feature in cinemas worldwide.
