GLAAD Media Awards 2015 nominees announced

The nominees for the 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards have been announced

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards recognise various forms of media, including film, TV, music and journalism, for “their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the LGBT community and the issues that affect their lives”.

The Imitation Game and Pride – both released last year to major critical acclaim – are among the nominees who are battling it out for the Outstanding Film award.

How To Get Away With Murderwhich has recently been criticised for its risqué gay sex scenes – is in contention for Outstanding Drama Series, alongside HBO’s Game of Thrones, Pretty Little Liars and BBC One’s The Last Tango In Halifax.

Meanwhile, Grammy-nominated singer Sam Smith is among the nominees for the Outstanding Music Artist award, which also include the likes of rapper Angel Haze and Mary Lambert.
