Gloria Gaynor belts out ‘I Will Survive’ as she washes hands in midst of coronavirus pandemic

As the world continues to battle coronavirus, some light has emerged through the darkness thanks to the legendary Gloria Gaynor.
The singer and gay icon, 70, has reminded everyone of the importance of hand-washing in the face of the ongoing pandemic with an incredibly camp viral Tik Tok video set to her 1978 hit ‘I Will Survive’.
The video sees the American singer give COVID-19 the proverbial two fingers as she throughly washes her hands while belting out the lyrics to the famous gay disco anthem in a fabulous purple frock.

Reiterating government advice to wash your hands thoroughly with soap for 20 seconds or longer, Gaynor wrote on Twitter alongside the video “It only takes 20 seconds to “SURVIVE”!”
Naturally, the singer’s camp AF commitment to public health went down a storm on the internet, with one Twitter user writing: “Gloria Gaynor washing her hands to I Will Survive is the hand washing video I didn’t know I needed.”
In a dig at President Trump, who has been widely criticised for downplaying the coronovirus outbreak in the US, another user added: “Gloria Gaynor has now done more for the health and welfare of the United States than the president.”
