Gottmik auditioned to play the iconic role of Pinhead in the new Hellraiser remake from Hulu, it has emerged.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race star wore a Pinhead-inspired look on this year’s season of the show – on which he finished in second place, behind Symone.
His outfit apparently caught the eye of filmmakers, who reached out directly to offer an audition.
“I had to read a bunch”
Speaking to EW, Gottmik explained: “When they saw my Hellraiser [look], they gave me the audition for Pinhead. I did [go on tape]! But I wasn’t menacing enough!”

The 24-year-old continued: “I had to read a bunch, I was in my apartment, against the wall, full-on trying to be Pinhead, pretending to pull needles out of my head, just going in! It was so funny!”
Although “sad” to miss out on the part, and despite wanting “to be Pinhead more than anything in my soul […],” Gottmik said he understood why he wasn’t cast, given his chipper, lovable demeanour on RPDR. “I’m like, I get that!”
“I mean, at least let me walk on the carpet in that look!” he added. “I’ll make a new one! I just want to be there. I’ll just be in the background next to Pinhead!”
