Grammys 2016: Lady Gaga channels Ziggy Stardust for incredible David Bowie tribute

The legacy of David Bowie was honoured in style at the Grammy Awards last night, after Lady Gaga delivered a rousing medley of the late star’s greatest hits.
Billed as an “experiential” and “multisensory” performance that had been co-designed by US tech firm Intel, Gaga made use of holograms, computer projections and lighting as she raced through classic Bowie numbers like ‘Space Oddity’, ‘Changes’ and ‘Rebel Rebel’.
Channeling Bowie’s alter-ego Ziggy Stardust, the 29-year-old – who just this week got a large tattoo of the rock legend’s visage on her torso – was joined on stage by Nile Rogers, who riffed out to the track he co-wrote with Bowie over 30 years go, ‘Let’s Dance’, before the pair launched into an emotional rendition of 1977’s ‘Heroes’.
Gaga had also paid tribute to Bowie – who passed away in January at the age of 69 following an 18-month battle with cancer – on the red carpet earlier in the evening, sporting bright red hair and custom-made Marc Jacobs gown.

Elsewhere, the night’s big winner was Taylor Swift, who made history after becoming the first woman to ever win the prized ‘Album of the Year’ Award twice, and got in a little dig at Kanye following the pair’s most recent war of words – find out more here.
