Great British Bake Off’s Tamal Ray to front new Channel 4 show
By Will Stroude
The Great British Bake Off will be back in a matter of weeks. But if, like us, you’re sad that it won’t feature beloved Tamal Ray from last year’s series fear not – he’s coming back to telly.
Dr Tamal Ray captured hearts everywhere during the last season of Bake Off, with his take-home-to-your-parents good looks, life-saving career as an anesthetist, and of course his impressive baking skills.
So you can imagine how elated we are to report that the Bake Off runner up, who came out publicly last September, will be fronting a new show on Channel 4.
So I'm going to be back on telly! Won't be talking about cake but rest assured I'm still eating plenty of them https://t.co/zcyw3ZIKQg

Teaming up with presenter Kate Quilton, Tamal will host Be Your Own Doctor, a “compelling and provocative health show” show that, according to Channel 4, will help us “navigate a ‘health-mad’ world where we are overloaded with information”.
So no cake, then?
With just one pilot episode planned at the moment, according to Digital Spy, we’ll keep our fingers crossed that Tamal is back on our screens on a more permanent basis.
The Great British Bake Off returns to our screens on August 24, at 8pm on BBC1.
