‘Harry Potter’ actor Dave Legeno found dead, aged 50

actor Dave Legeno has passed away at the age of 50.
Legeno, who was also a boxer and mixed martial arts fighter, was found dead in California’s Death Valley on Friday (July 10) by hikers, and is believed to have been died of heat stroke.
Legeno was best known for his the role as werewolf Fenrir Greyback in three of the Harry Potter films, 2009’s Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, 2010’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.
His other big screen credits included roles in Snatch, Snow White and the Huntsman and Batman Begins.
In a statement released to the press today (July 12), the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office said: “It appears that Legeno died of heat-related issues, but the Inyo County coroner will determine the final cause of death.”
Legeno’s Harry Potter co-star Tom Felton has since paid tribute to the late actor, posting a picture of himself with Legeno on Instagram accompanied by a heartfelt message, which reads:
“Dave Legeno. It was always a pleasure. He was a great talent with a heart of gold and always had time for anyone. Dave was a soft, kind gentleman off screen but had the skill to be the complete opposite on screen. He taught me lots, You will be missed mate xx.”
Legeno is survived by his daughter, Wendy, who is believed to be in her twenties.
