Harry Styles has addressed one of the more bizarre rumours surrounding his film Don’t Worry Darling: that he spat on co-star Chris Pine during the film’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
There’s been no shortage of drama and speculation around the film including that of a feud between the film’s star, Florence Pugh, and the director, Olivia Wilde, pay disparities between Styles and Pugh, and just how actor Shia Laboeuf left the project.
Safe to say this led to a lot of attention on the film and the film’s cast at the recent Venice event with spectators pouring over footage from the film’s press conference, red carpet, and, of course, the premiere.
One moment that has captured the internet’s attention is when the ‘As It Was’ singer sits down to watch the film next to Pine, who seems to act as if something’s fallen into his lap.
Here’s the moment:

While the internet is divided on the matter representatives for both Styles and Pine have since come out calling the story a “complete fabrication” and “not true”, as reported by The Independent.
But now Harry has addressed it himself.
During his concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Wednesday (7 September), the 28-year-old celebrated his tenth show at the venue and joked: “I just popped very quickly to Venice to spit on Chris Pine,” much to the audience’s cheers and screams.
Laughing he adds, “But, fret not, we’re back!”

Despite all the drama surrounding Don’t Worry Darling Harry appears to have enjoyed his time in Venice.
As well as providing some entertaining soundbites including, “my favorite thing about the movie is, like, it feels like a movie. It feels like a real, like, you know, go-to-the-theater-film movie,” the ‘As It Was’ singer also kissed his other co-star Nick Kroll after the film’s premiere.
Early reviews of the film have not been overwhelmingly positive with one calling Harry’s performance “one dimensional”.
Harry will also soon be seen in the upcoming gay romance, My Policeman, where he stars as Tom, a policeman (funny that) who is caught in a love triangle with his wife, Marion (Emma Corrin), and Patrick (David Dawson)
My Policeman will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival later this month before being released in UK cinemas on 21 October.
Don’t Worry Darling will be released in UK cinemas on 23 September 2022.
The Attitude September/October issue is out now.
