Harry Styles proved himself every bit the LGBT ally once again during a gig on Wednesday night (July 11) as he helped a young fan come out to her mother.
There were sweet scenes in San Jose, Texas, as former One Direction star Styles, paused his show after spotting a girl in the crowd holding a hand-made sign bearing the words: “I’m gonna come out to my parents because of you.”
During a break between songs, Styles pointed to the girl before asking her name and where her parents were.
The fan, named Grace, replied that her mother Tina was staying in a hotel nearby, prompting Harry to hush the crowd as he yelled: “Tina, she’s gay!”
He added: “Congratulations, I’m very happy for you”, before leading the crowd in a chant of ‘Tina, she’s gay’.
“You’ll see that next time on a t-shirt, ‘Tina, she’s gay’,” Styles added.
Grace, who’d shared a picture of her sign before the show on Twitter with the caption “I’m not expecting anything but I hope he at least sees it,” later posted to say that she’d shown her mother a video of the exchange after the show, coming out to her in the process.

@Harry_Styles Thank you so much for creating an environment where I am proud to be who I am. Your continuous support of the LGBTQ+ has helped me come to love myself and feel safe. Thank you for tonight and I can’t wait to show Tina (my mom) this video. Love you always. pic.twitter.com/Kk5FJVYemB
