The gay romance drama starring Harry Styles, My Policeman, is set to get its world premiere at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)

TIFF announced the news earlier today (Thursday 21 July) on social media. The Festival runs from Thursday 8 September to Sunday 18 September.

In the film, set in 1950s Brighton, Harry plays the titular policeman, Tom Burgess. The Crown’s Emma Corrin plays his partner Marion Taylor, a teacher while David Dawson plays museum curator Patrick Hazlewoodas, whom Tom has an affair with.

The film is based on Bethan Roberts’ 1950s-set novel of the same name and will also star Linus Roache, Rupert Everett, and Gina McKee as older versions of Tom, Patrick, and Marion.

Of the film, TIFF says “director Michael Grandage carves a visually transporting, heart-stopping portrait of three people caught up in the shifting tides of history, liberty, and forgiveness.”

My Policeman will be released in cinemas across the US and UK on 21 October and will then be available to stream worldwide on 4 November.

The Attitude July/August issue is out now.
