In a hilarious new sketch video published to YouTube this week, comedians and actors Sam Pancake and Brian Jordan Alvarez explore the downside to dating a younger guy.
Sure, a younger guy might have more energy, be more youthful, have more fun, but there’s a dark side to dating younger: He PROBABLY WON’T UNDERSTAND YOUR POP-CULTURAL REFERENCES.
The pair play a couple who, after one passing mention of legendary actress Gena Rowlands by Sam’s character that leaves his younger boyfriend blank-faced, descend into an increasingly exasperated argument about their generational differences:
We love this video but we have one public service announcement: we don’t care how young or old your beau is, if he has to ask you ‘Who’s John Waters?’ – shut it down. That’s a deal breaker.
