‘Him & Her’ star wants show to come back in 10 years
By Josh Haggis
actress Kerry Howard has spoken about the possibility of the show being revived in ten years’ time.
The hit BBC Three sitcom starred Looking actor Russell Tovey and Sarah Solemani as Steve and Becky, a lazy twentysomething couple with little desire to leave their flat. Howard co-starred as Becky’s sister, Laura, whose fiancé Paul (Ricky Champ) eventually turned out to be gay.
The acclaimed show first aired in 2010 and ran for four series, with the final episode being broadcast last December.
Speaking to the Radio Times at a BAFTA event earlier this week, Howard said it would be “amazing” to return to the series in a decade’s time.
Discussing possible story lines, the actress suggested: “I think Laura’s going to become an alcoholic and Paul’s going to continue seeing his gay lover…
“Laura’s going to try and probably have another baby probably with someone else and then say it’s Paul’s… [and] probably end up in prison in 20 years time…”
Meanwhile, in March Russell Tovey was cast as one of the leads in Banished, a forthcoming BBC Two drama series from Jimmy McGovern (Cracker, The Streets). The series is “loosely inspired by events in the 18th century when Britain established a penal colony on the other side of the world”, according to the BBC.
The actor has also been upgraded to a “series regular” for season two of Looking, which is due to start shooting later this year.
