Renowned homophobic group One Million Moms have called for Marvel to scrap the gay superhero in The Eternals.
Last year, Marvel Studios were reportedly actively looking for an LGBTQ actor to play a gay character in the upcoming movie The Eternals, based on the Marvel comic series written by Jack Kirby.
At San Diego Comic Con, the entire cast of the new MCU superheroes were revealed and includes the likes of Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Salma Hayek, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani and Brian Tyree Henry.
Footage screened at CCXP 2019 has revealed that Brian Tyree Henry’s character Phastos was seen holding hands with a male partner and two kids.
Haaz Sleiman, who is set to play Phastos’ husband in the new movie, revealed the film will feature Marvel Studios’ first ever same-sex kiss.
And as the world rejoices at the news that Marvel Studios will be finally introducing an openly gay character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming movie The Eternals, others cannot help but moan.
The renowned homophobic group One Million Moms – who quite frankly need to STFU – have issued a warning to their followers about the gay superhero and a same-sex kiss.
Their website says: “The entertainment industry to indoctrinate families with the LGBTQ agenda.
“Marvel has decided to be politically correct instead of providing family friendly programming.
“Marvel should stick to entertaining, not pushing an agenda.”
“I do not agree with the LGBTQ agenda you are pushing on families in the upcoming movie The Eternals,” a petition states.
“Unless Marvel removes the gay superhero and same-sex kiss, my family will not watch this film.”
“Marvel has left conservatives no other choice but to avoid The Eternals.”
The Eternals – which is one of Marvel’s lesser known series – are a species of humans who were created to be the defenders of Earth, which lead to the inevitability of war against their destructive counterparts, the Deviants.
