How do we seek sex? LGBT theatre group explores hookup culture

By Attitude Magazine

LGBT theatre company Outbox present their new original production hookup at Hackney Showroom this week, before a limited season in Manchester. hookup forms part of Queer Show & Tell, a week of theatre, film & experimentation, taking place at Hackney Showroom from September 8-12.

hookup ‘brings to life a wonderland of camp and catwalks from a collection of inter-generational stories’. The show takes a frank and intimate look at the fears and thrills of discovering sex and sustaining your sexuality across the decades.

“We are incredibly excited to be bringing our latest show to an exciting new festival of queer work at London’s coolest new venue. Having sold out our last few shows and achieved 5-star reviews, we know that there is still a massive interest in LGBT work,” says Ben Buratta, Artistic Director of Outbox.

“We are working with 10 amazing LGBT actors and a talented production team to bring you our most ambitious project to date. With a beautifully OTT set and a drag queen hostess, hookup tells the stories of those nights you will always remember and the ones you would rather forget…”

Outbox have released a trailer for the show:

The performance will take place at Hackney Showroom, London from 9 – 12th September and at Contact, Manchester on 19th September. Tickets are available at www.hackneyshowroom.com.
