‘I Might Go Lesbian’ is the trashiest gay-baiting song you’ll hear this year

And here we were thinking Katy Perry’s early career one-two punch of Ur So Gay and I Kissed A Girl (So My Boyfriend Would Get A Boner) was as bad as it got when it came to exploiting LGBT people in the quest to sell records.
Until now! American singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer, and reality TV show host Manika (no, we’d never heard of her either) just dropped her new single, a frustratingly catchy electro-pop song with the memorable title I Might Go Lesbian.
How’s this for a chorus:
Heartbreaking as fast as they can
I’m so damn sick of men
I might go le-e-e-e-esbian
I might go le-e-e-e-esbian
It’s those elongated warbling of le-e-e-e-esbian that really gets us. Pure poetry. Give the song a listen below:
Of course, this is 2015 and we’re preaching to the choir here, so we don’t need to point out that you don’t just ‘go’ lesbian because you’re ‘so damn sick of men.’ Can somebody tell Manika, though?
