It could be 2017 before we hear Lady Gaga’s new album
Elton John has revealed the tracks on Lady Gaga’s upcoming fifth studio album are “absolutely brilliant”, but admitted it could be 2017 before we get a chance to hear them.
The musical legend continued to build hype over the record after saying on his Beats 1 show that he’s heard two or three more songs from the record, Popjustice reports.
After describing a new songs as “killer” back in January, it’s unclear just how many new tracks Sir Elton’s a fan of, but the signs are certainly good for Gaga’s return to pop proper.
In less promising news, however, Sir Elton also said Gaga’s new music will be out “later in the year or early next year”, meaning we could still have quite with while to wait before follow-up to 2013’s Artpop is dropped.
After a few shaky years in the music industry, with Artpop selling considerably less then both 2009’s The Fame Monster and 2011’s Born This Way, anticipation to see what Gaga comes out with next is high, but she’s already been confirmed to be working with Mark Ronson on the record.
The 30-year-old’s resurgence post-Artpop has been a curious rollercoaster: Having a somewhat relaxed jazz album with Tony Bennett, the Applause has performed at some major showcases like the Oscars and Super Bowl and started her acting career with an Emmy-winning turn in American Horror Story.
All signs are pointing to a great album that will hopefully take Gaga back to her glory days. Here’s hoping LG5 will live up to the hype.
