It’s a Sin voted Best New Drama by public at the National Television Awards
The show beat off competition from Bridgerton and Normal People to take home the gong

Hit Channel 4 series It’s A Sin took home the Best New Drama award at the National Television Awards (NTAs) on Thursday night (9 September).
The show, which focuses on the rise of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in 80s London, beat off competition from the likes of Bridgerton, Des and Normal People in a public vote.
Years & Years star Olly Alexander, who starred in the four-parter, accepted the award on stage at the O2 Arena in London.

Olly celebrated the win by posting a photo of him and his It’s A Sin colleagues on Instagram.

In a caption, the ‘Starstruck’ singer said: “Can’t believe last night was real! We won Best New Drama at the @officialntas last night. It’s A Sin means so much to me, I’m so happy people watched the show and talked about it [sic].”
The 30-year-old added: “LGBTQ+ history is so vital for all of us and I hope this shows the public are hungry for more! More queer stories!!! Thank you thank you all for your love and support (also I met the icon @katieprice!)”
Series creator Russell T Davies also took to Instagram to say: “We are amazed. For a drama about AIDS to win a public vote… wow. La!”
