ITV in talks to revive ‘Cold Feet’

ITV are reportedly trying to revive Cold Feet, more than a decade after the hit 90s comedy-drama series departed screens for good.
The show’s original cast, including James Nesbitt, Hermione Norris and Fay Ripley – are thought to be in talks with the channel about reprising their iconic roles for a new series, according to The Mirror.
Cold Feet aired for five series between 1998 and 2003, charting the romantic ups and downs of three couples as they dealt with marriage, parenthood. adultery and divorce. The show’s emotional final episode in March 2003 was watched by almost 11 million viewers.
News of a revival first surfaced last month, but new report say that ITV bosses are eyeing up a return for the the former ratings hit as a potential Sunday night replacement for Downton Abbey, which will conclude next year after its sixth series.
“It is all looking very positive for a Cold Feet comeback,” a source told The Mirror. “But at this point it is still in the planning stage and there is a long way to go.”
The insider added that any possible comeback for the gang would be some way off, with filming unlikely to occur until next year, ahead of a possible autumn 2016 premiere.
In a short statement an ITV spokesman described the reports as “speculation”, but didn’t exactly rule out the possibility of a comeback, saying: “There is always so much interest in a Cold Feet reunion.”
