J. K. Rowling: ‘Hogwarts would have been a safe place for LGBT students’
By Josh Haggis
J.K. Rowling has revealed that Hogwarts would have been a “safe place” for LGBT students.
During a Twitter Q&A this week (December 16), the Harry Potter author told a fan that she believes gay students at the School for Witchcraft and Wizardry would have had a support network in place to help them thrive during their time studying.

Earlier this year (September), Rowling hit back at a homophobic Harry Potter reader who told her that he was no longer a fan of the series after finding out that Albus Dumbledore was a gay man – find out more here.
Meanwhile, a recent study at an Italian university found that reading Rowling’s Harry Potter novels can make children more accepting of gay people – read more here.
