Jack Laugher wins bronze medal at diving World Cup
By Nick Levine
Attitude HOT 100 favourite Jack Laugher has won a bronze medal at the diving World Cup.
The 19-year-old, who hails from Harrogate in North Yorkshire, came in third in final of the men’s 3m springboard event, which took place in Shanghai, China earlier today (July 19).
Two Chinese divers, He Chong and Cao Yuan, won gold and silver respectively, our friends at Sports Mole report.
This is Laugher’s first ever medal at the diving World Cup, and stands the Team England diver in good stead for the Commonwealth Games, which begin in Glasgow next week.
Meanwhile, Attitude‘s current cover star Tom Daley will compete in the semi-final of the men’s 10 platform event tomorrow morning (July 20) – and, presuming he qualifies, in the event’s final later that day.
Another Attitude HOT 100 favourite, Chris Mears, competed alongside Laugher in the semi-finals of the men’s 3m springboard event yesterday (July 18), but missed out on a spot in the final.
Laugher recently shared a picture of himself and Mears training in the rain for the diving World Cup – check it out here.
