Jake Gyllenhaal a musclebound boxer in ‘Southpaw’ trailer

A new trailer for upcoming boxing drama Southpaw has been released, and its given us ample view of Jake Gyllenhaal’s incredible physical transformation for his latest starring role.
The actor – who previously shed a huge amount of weight for last year’s Nightcrawler – gained 15-pounds of muscle to play boxer Billy ‘The Great’ Hope in the Antoine Fuqua-directed film.
Co-starring Rachel McAdams, 50 Cent, Forest Whitaker and Rita Ora, the film follows Gyllenhaal’s character’s return to the boxing ring as he tries to regain control of his life after experiencing a personal tragedy.
Antoine Fuqua revealed the extend of Gyllenhaal’s preparation for the role last year, saying: “Jake is going to change how people see him. I had him training twice a day in the boxing ring, seven days a week,”
Southpaw is set for release in the US and UK on July 24. We’ll be first in line:
