Jake Quickenden returns to ‘The X Factor’ tonight
By Josh Haggis
Former X Factor hopeful Jake Quickenden returns to the show tonight (September 7) for a second shot at pop stardom.
Quickenden, who hails from Scunthorpe, made it to the Judges’ Houses stage of the ITV singing competition in 2012, but had his hopes dashed when Nicole Scherzinger told him he wasn’t ready for the live shows.
On tonight’s show, Quickenden switches songs midway through his audition on the advice of Mel B, eventually performing a version of Say Something by A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera, which he dedicates to his late brother, who died last year aged 19.
Check out a sneak preview of Quickenden’s audition tonight below.
Louis Walsh apparently labels Quickenden’s performance “so emotional”, while Simon Cowell tells the singer he respects him for having a second crack at The X Factor. To find out whether Quickenden makes it through the audition, tune in to The X Factor tonight (September 7) at 8pm on ITV.
