James Van Der Beek once caught with Dawson’s Creek gay porn spoof

James Van Der Beek has revealed that he was once caught with a gay porn spoof of Dawson’s Creek.
The actor played Dawson Leery in the hit US teen drama between 1998 and 2003, and recently starred in viral “deboot” of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Speaking to Vulture, Van Der Beek was asked how he would imagine a gritty Dawson’s Creek to look, prompting him to make a revelation.
“It’s funny, you actually reminded me of something else that occurred to me. I remember when I was doing Rules of Attraction, and the hair and makeup department got me a copy of the Dawson’s Crack porn movie as a gag gift,” he said.
“It was on VHS, that’s how long ago that was, and I thought it was hilarious. I couldn’t wait to bring it back and show everybody in North Carolina and say, “We’ve made it! Look at us. They’ve made a porno out of us.”
He explained: “This was right after 9/11, and I get flagged by security, and somebody opened up the suitcase, and there’s a gay porno right on top. Not just any gay porno, but one based on the show that I was on. Which is kind of excellent.”
Van Der Beek most recently appeared – handcuffed to a bed – in short-lived CBS sitcom Friends with Better Lives.
