Jamie Dornan reveals exactly what happens to his ‘essentials’ during ’50 Shades’ sex scenes

Jamie Dornan has revealed what it was like filming the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie’s copious amounts of sex scenes.
Speaking to British GQ, the 32-year-old teased that he tied up his crown jewels “like a bag of grapes”, saying it was a “peculiar” experience.
“Your dignity is intact as much as it’s all tucked away in a little flesh-coloured bag…” he said. “As a guy you put all your essentials in a little bag and you tie it up like a little bag of grapes and it’s tucked away. Its quite a peculiar thing to do every day.”
Adding that he’s an “extremely liberal person” when it comes to the bedroom, the former Once Upon a Time star also elaborated on his research process for the role, which involved taking a trip to an active S&M dungeon.
“In the course of researching this character, I have seen the reality very closely. I can tell you from an alarmingly first-hand perspective it’s not altogether sexy,” he said.
“But I’ve been in a dungeon with a lukewarm beer while a dominant has had some fun with his submissive and it was very playful and jovial and not at all dark and serious. There was a lot of laughter…”

Meanwhile, the film has been given an ‘R’ rating by US censors because of it’s depiction of “graphic nudity” and “unusual behaviour,” reports Variety.
The big screen adaptation also stars Dakota Johnson as Anastacia Steele has been directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy), while the supporting cast includes Jennifer Ehle, Marcia Gay Harden, Luke Grimes, and popstar Rita Ora – who is also providing a song for the soundtrack.
Since they were first published in 2011, the three Fifty Shades novels by EL James – aka Erika Leonard, a former TV executive from west London – have collectively sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
Fifty Shades of Grey will be released in cinemas worldwide on February 14, 2015.
