Jane Lynch and Cyndi Lauper will co-star in a new Netflix show dubbed the ‘Golden Girls for today’.
The comedian and music icon have joined the new series by Seinfeld creator Carol Leifer – who announced the news back in July in a Facebook post – but now Lynch has let slip more details about the upcoming show.
While speaking backstage at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Lynch said: “I pitched a show to Netflix and they bought it.
“I don’t know if I can even tell you, but it’s with Cyndi Lauper, so there! We’ll see.”
When pushed for more details, Lynch – who is best known for starring as Sue Sylvester in Ryan Murphy’s Glee – said: “We’re our age, I’m almost 60 and she’s 65, and we’re looking for our next act, without ever having had husbands or children.
“And there will be two other people who haven’t been cast yet.
“But it’s kind of a Golden Girls for today.”
