Janet Jackson teases new album details

Janet Jackson has revealed some more details about her upcoming 11th studio album.
The Control singer, who announced last month (May 16) that she will release new material and embark on a world tour later, has confirmed that a new album will be released in the autumn.
A statement on her official website revealed that the “as-yet-untitled album” was set for a “Fall 2015” release, and that it would be released in partnership with BMG and her own newly-formed record label, Rhythm Nation.
It read: “With Rhythm Nation Janet Jackson becomes arguably the first female African-American recording artist to form her own record label. At Rhythm Nation Janet plans to offer a home to both new and established recording artists.
“The partnership with BMG makes Janet Jackson the biggest worldwide superstar yet to quit the traditional record label system for a so-called artist services deal, designed to put artists in the driving seat.”
“Unlike a traditional record deal, under an artist services deal the artist retains ownership of their recordings and full oversight of all costs and revenues,” the statement added.
Taking to Twitter, Jackson confirmed the news, and continued to use the hastag #ConversationsInACafe – the rumoured title of the new record.

Jackson’s new label is named after her biggest-selling studio album – 1989’s Rhythm Nation 1814, which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year. The singer’s last album came seven years ago with 2008’s Discipline.
