Two Scandi music legends have teamed up for a new track that’s music to our queer ears.
Jónsi has enlisted pop’s most enigmatic queen, Robyn, for new single ‘Salt Licorice’, from the former Sigur Rós frontman’s upcoming second studio album Shiver, out this Friday (2 October).
An “aggressive take on ballroom house” which tackles how the “coldness of aging, nostalgia, and depression, sorrows that are made easier when shared with a kindred soul”, ‘Salt Liqorice’ sees the pair in the fine experimental form which has put them at the forefront of the 21st century alt-pop movement.

“‘Salt Licorice’ is such a cute and perfect pop song,” says Robyn, who made a long-awaited return to the charts with 2018’s Honey.
“It makes me want to dance violently and make out at the same time. It was a no-brainer to say yes to singing it with Jónsi.
“The pretty emails I get with a thousand emojis in them from him is a bonus that came with our collaboration as well!”
