The new trailer for Disney’s Jungle Cruise movie gives us another glimpse at Jack Whitehall’s gay character.
Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, the new film stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as the charismatic riverboat captain and Emily Blunt as a determined explorer on a research mission.
Also starring in the film are Edgar Ramirez, Jack Whitehall, with Jesse Plemons, and Paul Giamatti.
Back in 2018, it was announced that Whitehall would be playing an openly gay – and “very camp” – character.
Reports at the time said Whitehall’s character will be “hugely effete, very camp and very funny” with an anonymous source saying: “He is playing a gay man”.
Now in the new trailer, we see Whitehall’s character – albeit he doesn’t say a word – alongside co-stars Blunt and Johnson.
The action-packed film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and looks to be Disney’s new adventure franchise following the likes of Pirates of the Caribbean.
Jungle Cruise is set to be released on July 24.
