Kate McKinnon is set to to star in the ucpoming Netflix reboot of classic ’90s kids series The Magic School Bus.
The gay star of Saturday Night Live and Ghostbusters will lend her voice to character of Ms. Frizzle in the upcoming reboot of the classic kids cartoon, which ran for four series between 1994 and 1997.
Originally announced back into 2014 by Netflix, The Magic School Bus Rides Again is said to be a 26-episodes series made using CGI.
The original version of the kids TV series earned numerous Emmy nominations, including one for actress Lily Tomlin for her exuberant voice performance as Ms. Frizzle.
Tomlin is currently staring in Netflix’s Grace & Frankie – set to return for a third season on March 24 – but creators have been sure to clarify that McKinnon will be voicing Ms. Fiona Frizzle, who is the sister to Tomlin’s original Ms. Valerie Frizzle.
Can anyone else hear the sound of a door opening for a potential guest appearance?
Of course everyone on Twitter went crazy over the nostalgia-inducing news:
