Katy Perry and Elton John perform at Hillary Clinton fundraiser

Elton John and Katy Perry both performed at a special fundraising concert for Hillary Clinton in New York City last night (March 2)
The ‘I’m With Her’ concert was held at Radio City Music Hall the day after Hillary won 7 U.S. state primaries on Super Tuesday.
Elton performed some of his classics, including ‘Tiny Dancer’, ‘Rocket Man’ and ‘I’m Still Standing’, which he dedicated to the Democratic front runner. It became clearer this week that a November election will probably see Clinton taking on Donald Trump.
“This is an important year for America, and she’s the only hope you have,” Elton said.

“I cannot wait for Hillary Clinton to be president of the United States,” John added, as he discussed advocacy for HIV/AIDS and LGBT rights. “I have known her for 25 years and in that time I’ve never ceased to be awed by her vision, intelligence her tenacity and her warmth.”

Katy Perry, who performed hits like ‘Roar’, ‘Unconditionally’ and ‘California Girls’ said, “I’m not voting for her because she’s a woman, I’m voting for her because she’s the right person for the job.”
“We need a president who can do all parts of the job,” she added. “A person that is strong but also human, that loves humanity and looks out for us and our basic human rights and needs, which I can’t believe are still a question in 2016.”
Perry has previously appeared and performed at several Clinton rallies, and nominated ‘Roar’ as an unofficial campaign anthem. Elton John also has long links to the Clintons, and performed a special concert for Hillary’s 60th birthday.
Tickets for the fundraiser were selling for anything between $125 and $2,700, according to Variety.
