Kid Cudi ‘mad’ gay kiss got cut from film ‘James White’

Kid Cudi has revealed that he was “mad” a scene where he shares a kiss with another man was removed from the final cut of his film James White.
The forthcoming hard-hitting drama tells the story of a twenty-something New Yorker (Christopher Abbott) as he tries to come to terms with his father’s death while caring for his terminally ill mother (Cynthia Nixon).
Cudi, who plays the role of Abbott’s gay best friend, has told Billboard that although he’s happy the film doesn’t make a big deal of his character’s coming out, he’s disappointed the sexually-charged scene he filmed ended up on the cutting room floor.
“I’m mad they cut out my kissing scenes with David,” said the rapper. “We made out so many times and it was so good! That’s my only gripe.”
“When [my character] comes out of the closet it’s not really a thing,” he added. “I think that’s something the world needs to see. ‘Cause it’s not a thing. We’re all equal.”
When asked if he had any second thoughts about playing a gay character, Cudi insisted that he “didn’t flinch” when he decided to take on the role.
“I didn’t flinch. I’m secure with [my sexuality]. I’m an artist – it’s all about playing characters that are intriguing and stimulating,” he said.
