Kim Kardashian just took Taylor Swift and Kanye’s feud to the next level
By Will Stroude
took to Snapchat in the early hours of this morning (July 18) to reveal what she claims is “the truth” about the ongoing Kanye West and Taylor Swift feud.
Swift, who fell out big time last week with ex Calvin Harris after he accused her of trying to “bury” him, has been involved in a renewed spat with the rapper since hitting out at a lyric in his track ‘Famous’, in which he declares “Me and Taylor might still have sex/I made that bitch famous”.
West – who was later overheard branding Swift a “fake ass” – claimed he had received her permission to use the lyric, something which the 1989 hitmaker denied.
At the time, Taylor’s publicist said: “Kanye did not call for approval but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message”.
Kanye’s wife Kim later backed up her husband in an interview with GQ, claiming that the couple had a video recording of a conversation with Swift in which she grants permission, and that Swift’s legal team had threatened them after discovering its existence.
Seemingly keen to clear up the controversy once ad for all, this morning (July 18) Kardashian appeared to release the video in question – and it’s sent the internet into meltdown.
The footage sees Kanye on the phone to Swift, reciting the lyric “Me and Taylor might still have sex” before being told by the singer: “It seems like a compliment, kind of.”
“I really appreciate you telling me about it”, she adds.
Kanye tells her: “I just had a responsibility to you as a friend, you know?”

Shortly after dropping that bombshell, Kim took to Twitter, saying: “There’s a big difference between shading someone and speaking the truth!”

Swift hasn’t wasted anytime responding, however, posting a lengthy statement on Twitter pointed out that the footage doesn’t show her approving the lyric “I made that bitch famous” – the one she took a swipe at in her Grammy acceptance speech.
The 26-year-old then accused Kim and Kanye of attempted “character assassination”, adding: “I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009.”

Taylor’s ‘squad’ of celebrity pals also began rallying round the singer with Selena Gomez seeming to jump to her defence, saying “there are more important things to talk about”.
There are more important things to talk about… Why can't people use their voice for something that fucking matters?

One astute tweeter then took the opportunity to talk about Ms Gomez’ silence over political issues such as Black Lives Matter.

In a now deleted response, the ‘Hands To Myself’ singer questions the effectiveness of the Black Lives Matter hashtag.
Whether you’re Team Taylor or Team Kimye, obviously the main question is: Where on earth will this saga head next?
