Kylie Minogue joins John Grant for duet at Royal Albert Hall – exclusive pics
Looking every bit the Viking man mountain, acclaimed American singer-songwriter John Grant played a special one-off concert at the Royal Albert Hall last night with material made up of mostly new music from his third album Grey Tickles, Black Pressure.
Living in Reykjavík with an Icelandic graphic designer, the bearded Grant’s rich baritone haunting ballads tell tales of love, rejection, disease and dreams before bursting in to fizzing electro synth songs that crash like thunder then recede just as quickly.
With former Siouxsie and the Banshees drummer Budgie in his band, openly gay and HIV positive Grant was also joined by Antipodean pop songstress Kylie for a gorgeous duet in a show that lasted for over two hours and held a packed Royal Albert Hall enraptured throughout.
