Kylie Minogue is set to top the Official UK Album Chart for the first time in almost 10 years with her latest album Golden.
The Australian pop icon released her country-infused 14th studio album last Friday (April 6) following the success of singles ‘Dancing’ and ‘Stop Me From Falling’ – and you can read our review of the barnstorming LP here.
According to the Official Charts Company, the seven-time Attitude cover star is out-selling her nearest rival by nearly three to one.
Should Golden remain at the top of the perch come Friday, it would be Minogue’s first UK Number One album since 2010’s Aphrodite and sixth overall.
The 49-year-old first topped the UK Albums Chart in 1988 with her debut record Kylie, before scoring Number Ones with Enjoy Yourself (1989), Greatest Hits (1992), Fever (2001) and Aphrodite (2010).
Kylie was working Golden as her engagement to British actor and Galavant star Joshua Sasse ended a little over a year ago, but in Attitude’s May issue – available to download and in shops now – the singer insists there’s no bitterness on her latest record.
“I’m not writing from a place of heartbreak” she reveals. “I was a bit broken, I wasn’t feeling very strong at a certain point, and we’ve all been there, we know what that’s like.”
The Attitude Legend Award winner continues: “But I tend to bounce back pretty quickly, I’m pragmatic about stuff. It’s looking rationally, with heart, with humour, to where I’m at…

“I hope you can feel on the album there’s no blame, I’m not hanging on to anything.
“I’m just taking a really good look at where I think I am in my life.”
