The trailer for the crime biopic House of Gucci has been released, and Lady Gaga looks like she’s to deliver another stunning performance on a par with her Oscar-nominated turn in 2018’s A Star Is Born.
The Ridley Scott-direct crime biopic – set to release on 26 November – tells the real-life story of the assassination of Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver) and co-stars, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Jared Leto,.
“It’s time to take out the trash”
The trailer focuses on Lady Gaga, who will be playing Italian socialite, Patrizia Reggiani, her relationship with Driver’s Maurizio. Patrizia isn’t messing around clearly, at one point telling Maurizio “Gucci needs new blood. It’s time to take out the trash.”
Maurizio replies: “They’re my family,” to which Patrizia reminds him, “So am I.” We wouldn’t want to cross her.
Set over a dramatic version of Blondie’s iconic classic ‘Heart of Glass’ The film shows us no end of glitz and glamour with sweeping shots through lush and lavish scenes. Money, family, power, betrayal, sex, loyalty, scandal, ambition and yes, murder, will all come into play.
The trailer ends with a clip of Gaga dressed in skiing gear telling someone, “I don’t consider myself to be a particularly ethical person. But I am fair,” while stirring an espresso and harshly beating the teaspoon on the cup before sipping. It’s menacing and more chilling than the snowy background.
We can’t wait to see the film come November! Watch the trailer for House of Gucci below:
