Lady Gaga has revealed the last two covers for her Born This Way The Tenth Anniversary album, which is out in full today.
Ben Platt of Dear Evan Hansen and The Politician fame has covered ‘Yoü and I’, while four-piece band The Highwomen – also featuring Brittney Spencer and Madeline Edwards – have given us their reimagined version of ‘Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)’.
They join Years & Years star Olly Alexander, Kylie Minogue, Big Freedia and Orville Peck as the LGBTQ artists and community advocates contributing to this special release.
“It’s too much”
With their track, Grammy-winners The Highwomen – comprised of Brandi Carlile, who identifies as a lesbian, plus Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires – have us longing for long, hot summer days driving with the windows down.
Meanwhile, Tony-winner Platt’s soulful version of ‘Yoü and I’ is giving us chills.
The 27-year-old, who is gay, posted on his social media: “i love you @ladygaga thank you for letting me be part of #bornthisway reimagined.”
One fan commented: “STOP this has always been my favorite lady gaga song and now YOUR vocals are on this masterpiece?? it’s too much. brb I will be listening to this on repeat FOREVER” with crying face and rainbow emojis.
