With just 10 days to go until the release of A Star Is Born, anticipation for the romantic muscial drama starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga is reaching fever pitch.
Trailers for the latest remake of the 1937 musical classic have already introduced us to original song ‘The Shallows’, and now Gaga has shared a preivew of a soaring new ballad from the film.
The ‘Telephone’ singer shared a preview of ‘Is That Alright?’ on Instagram on Monday (25 September) alongside another teaser trailer for the film, which hits cinemas next Friday (5 October).
Co-written by Gaga, the track packs a serious punch as the six-time Grammy Award-winning singer declares: “I want you at the end of my life / I want to see you face / I want to fall with grace at the moment I die”.
A Star Is Born, which was previously adapted into a 1954 musical starring Judy Garland and James Mason and reimagined as a 1976 rock musical with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, marks Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut as well as Gaga’s first major big screen role since 2013’s Machete Kills.
The film’s soundtrack features and entirely new roster of songs, the majority of which have been co-written by Gaga herself. It’s set to drop in full on 5 October to coincide with the film’s release – and on the basis ofwhat we’ve heard so far, it’s set to be on our musical classic playlist for months to come.
A Star Is Born is set for release in the UK and US on 5 October.
