Lady Gaga to honour Amy Winehouse by covering one of her classic tracks

Lady Gaga is finding time in between rocking the world and adding the final touches to upcoming fifth album Joanne to record a touching tribute to late singer Amy Winehouse, all in the name of raising money for charity The Amy Winehouse Foundation.
Amy’s father Mitch Winehouse has told The Sun he’s honouring the life of the talented star – responsible for hits such as ‘Back To Black’ and ‘Love Is A Losing Game’ – by asking musicians to record covers of her greatest hits.
“We’ve got this new YouTube channel where stars all over the world are going to do an Amy track and however many hits we get after the first 2 million, we start making money for the Foundation”, Mitch explained.
“Hopefully it’s going to be a source of revenue for the foundation. We need money and that’s a great way to get cash and remember Amy, go on YouTube and have fun.”
“Leona Lewis is going to do one, Lady Gaga will do one, and a few other stars” he added.
Given that US producer Mark Ronson is a long-time friend of Gaga’s and famously collaborated with Amy on track ‘Valerie’, as well as Gaga’s latest single ‘Perfect Illusion’, could it be possible that he may have a part to play in this project?

The ‘Perfect Illusion’ hit-maker premiered new album details for ‘Joanne’ on an exclusive interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, and is likely to feature 11 songs (with 14 on the deluxe edition) and is set for worldwide release on October 21st.
