Lady Gaga’s new music is ‘incredible’, according to Mark Ronson
By Will Stroude
It’s now been three years since Lady Gaga releases her last solo album, 2013’s Artpop, and with the odd exception of her Sound of Music performance last year’s Oscars and David Bowie tribute at the Grammys, we’ve been missing the 30-year-old’s incomparable presence in pop.
And when her sexy, bloodthirsty role in American Horror Story: Hotel earned her a Golden Globe, and feared that Gaga might take even longer to return to music.
However, Mother Monster is now making a comeback with her fifth studio album proper (sorry, Cheek to Cheek) with the help of DJ and producer Mark Ronson – and by the sounds of it, we should be getting very excited by the prospect.
Talking to Beat 1’s Zane Lowe, Ronson raved about Gaga’s fifth studio album: “It’s some of my favourite music I’ve ever worked on. It’s incredible – I love it.”
The ‘Uptown Funk’ hitmaker continued: “It’s rare you’re working on something and you go to bed at three in the morning and you wake up at eight and you cannot wait to get back into the studio.”
Despite the high praise, Ronson refused to give away any spoilers about Gaga’s new record.
“When the time is right to tell the story, I feel like she should tell it,” he said. “I can’t wait for you to hear it because the music speaks for itself.”
Ronson announced that he was working with Gaga in January, promising the album release sometime this year. However, he confessed of his own music, if he heard Uptown Funk on the radio he’d “definitely probably switch the channel.”
Meanwhile, Gaga recently confirmed that she had split from her fiancé and partner of five years, Taylor Kinney – click here to find out more.
