Lana Del Rey scores second UK Number One album
By Josh Haggis
Lana Del Rey has entered the UK’s Official Albums Chart at Number One with her second LP Ultraviolence.
The album, which out-sold its nearest rival from Linkin Park by nearly wo copies to one, becomes her second chart-topping album in the UK. The US singer, real name Elizabeth Grant, previously made Number One in 2012 with her debut album Born to Die.
Meanwhile, over on the UK’s Official Singles Chart, former X Factor singer Ella Henderson holds onto the top spot for a second week running with her debut offering Ghost.
The track fought off stiff competition from Aussie boyband 5 Seconds of Summer, whose new single Don’t Stop enters at number two, just 3,000 copies behind Henderson, in one of the tightest chart battles of the year so far, reports the Official Charts Company.
Elsewhere on the Official Singles Chart, US popstar Demi Lovato claims her fifth UK Top 40 hit with Neon Lights, which charts at number 15 this week.
