Lauren Bacall is last of Madonna’s ‘Vogue’ stars to pass away
Following the death of Lauren Bacall yesterday (August 12), every one of the Hollywood greats celebrated in Madonna’s 1990 hit Vogue has now passed away.
The classic track, which reached Number One in both the US and the UK, features a spoken word middle eight which in which Madonna name-checks 16 iconic actors and actresses from the so-called “Golden Age of Hollywood”.
When Madonna performed the track at the Superbowl Halftime Show in 2012, the estates of the ten stars mentioned by their full name each received a royalty payment of $3750 (£2232). At the time, Bacall was the only surviving star.
