Lee Ryan: ‘Why would I care if people think I’m gay?’
By Sam Rigby
Lee Ryan has responded to claims from ex-girlfriend Jasmine Waltz that he is gay.
The Blue singer said took to Twitter to explain why he hasn’t “reacted” to Waltz’s comments, saying that “sexuality doesn’t need to be defended or justified”.
He said: “I’ve been asked by a few people why I haven’t reacted over recent claims & my answer is this.. The claims that I am gay don’t faze me. I don’t care if people think I’m gay, why would I care? I would be proud. Sexuality doesn’t need to be defended or justified.
“In 2014 when individual sexuality is being celebrated, it’s odd that Twitter trolls and bullies focus on sexuality in a derogatory way.
“We have created change as a society, a really brilliant change and to those people who have not yet caught up to 2014 (for whatever reason) please just open your minds and begin to think #equal. Everyone is allowed to be individual.”
Waltz – who became involved with the singer during their time on Celebrity Big Brother – told press that he was unfaithful with another man as soon as she returned to Los Angeles.
She tweeted: “Wish this was a joke. Living a lie and dragging other ppl into your life is selfish and disgusting.. #bereal#manup.”
The 30-year-old recently told Attitude that he needs to get back to the gym before he agrees to appear in another naked photoshoot.
