Lena Dunham takes same-sex marriage pledge

Lena Dunham has insisted that she won’t marry her boyfriend until gay marriage is legal throughout the US.
The Girls creator – who has been with her boyfriend Jack Antonoff for 3 years – told Ellen DeGeneres this week that the couple have agreed not to tie the knot until same-sex marriage is legal in every US state, arguing that to marry before that “wouldn’t feel like a celebration”.
“I had never thought about marriage that much, but it was something that was really important to Jack at an early age, and my sister’s gay,” said Dunham.
She continued: “Well, it’s something that the idea of having a celebration that can’t be fully shared among all the people in my life and all the people that we love just doesn’t really feel like a celebration at all.”
“So until that’s something that everyone can join into with no sense of being left out on any level, politically, emotionally, it’s just not something that we’re going to do,” she added.
