After dressing as Santa Claus in ‘Holiday‘ and giving Satan a lapdance in ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)‘, Lil Nas X is back with another stunning, big-budget music video.

His latest is for new single ‘Sun Goes Down’, taken from his upcoming studio album Montero.

In the clip, the 22-year-old – who is gay – is seen revisiting his closeted teenage years, from working at Taco Bell to attending his school prom.

“I prayed God would take it from me”

Song lyrics from the song include: “Since 10, I’ve been feelin’ lonely, had friends but they was pickin’ on me. Always thinkin’: “why my lips so big?” Was I too dark? Can they sense my fears? These gay thoughts would always haunt me. I prayed God would take it from me.”

Describing the video on Twitter last week, the star said: “In the ‘sun goes down’ video [sic] i go back in time to visit a younger version self who’s struggling inside, hating himself, & doesn’t want to live anymore.

“I try my best to uplift him. can’t wait to share this song and video with you guys on friday. this one is really special to me.”
